Thursday Thirteen #4 – Things I’ve Learned About Homeschooling

Thursday Thirteen

Things I’ve Learned About Homeschooling

  1. There is no such thing as the “typical homeschooler”.
  2. Sometimes it is harder than I thought it would be.
  3. Sometimes it is easier than I thought it would be.
  4. There is no such thing as the all inclusive, complete, boxed curriculum; no matter what anyone says.
  5. That I love not having to get up early to make her get up early.
  6. That I don’t miss “volunteering” for all those school functions.
  7. I am not a “teacher”; but I am great at the role of “guide”.
  8. There will always be those people that look at you strangely.
  9. There will always be those people who feel they have to put their 2¢ in.
  10. Some days nothing will get done, and this is okay.
  11. That I remember very little of elemetary social studies, history, and science.
  12. Learning can take place any time, any where; you just have to be open to it.
  13. Art and reading are still my favorite subjects.
