GoDaddy Hosting Woes
I host with godaddy, I have for years, and I have always been beyond pleased with extremely minimal down time and the impeccable service. Unfortunately, my most recent experience leaves a lot to be desired.
I love hosting my blog on a self-hosted WordPress blog; but I love using windows hosting because I’m too lazy to convert all my pages from asp. I was thrilled when this became an option through godaddy. However, in the short time I’ve had this account the site has been down more than it has been up. The blog loads correctly about 50% of the time, the other 50% it either out and out fails or gets stuck in a load loop. FTPing to my account has also become a bit of a challenge, as a good 75% of the time I cannot use my ftp program and godaddy’s only works about 30% of the time.
When I contacted them for support the first claim was that they couldn’t reproduce my complaints, then after I completed a trace for them I was told that it is a known issue and they are working on it. Ummmm…. how long exactly am I supposed to be satisfied with that, I paid for services I can’t use, I have two more domains purchased for use on this account that have yet to be set up for lack on connection and another that I would transfer if only I could count on the ability to access it. They say please contact us if there is anything else they can do for me, no, really I’d be happy if you would just fix the problem folks.
I guess I will have to consider other hosting if this doesn’t resolve soon. I don’t have the time, energy, or patience to sit around waiting for them to do the right thing.
