Sun Setting On the Mississippi #1

We took the dog for a walk on the river Tuesday night and of course I brought my camera. The sun was a blazing ball when we got there and I wondered how brilliant the sunset would be. It wasn’t all the earlier moments promised but I did get just over 400 photos. Towards the end I was pushing the limits of my little point and shoot and lost some quality; but without flash still looked better than with flash. Someday I will own a real camera and then I will need a million external hard drives to hold all my photos.

If you leave a comment and I don’t get back to you right away, I promise I will before the day is through. It’s a special day at the zoo today and we will be gone for most of the daylight hours.

    Hey nice pics
You should check out FotoConnection … that is where I got my latest toy – Canon T1I Digital SLR — they have GREAT prices on stuff…I just got Kit/Package # 25 and I love it!

I think if I had to do it again I would go for kit 21 or 20 but I love the kit I got :) GREAT service and quick delivery. Best prices anywhere! I am going to be posting more pics as I use the camera…thanks for stopping by my little corner of the world.

Though you said the pictures were taken using point and shoot, I think you did very well. I especially like the 4th picture. The framing is good. And overall, the series of pictures tell a story about our beautiful world. Very nice. Happy LATSF! — http://www.prettyfirefly.com

A stunning time-lapse sequence. I enjoy the scenes where the strong evening sky leaves a wonderful reflection on the water. This is a nice collage, the night happily a clear starry night awaits!

This is such a creative post … we’re watching the sun set right along with you.

I should look at your post about framing and layout. I have no clue how to do anything like that!

    Happy Sky Looking ~
