Finished – Well, Sort Of…
Wow, I made it through the first part of the program yesterday, even did all my homework assignments. Now I’m going to take a few weeks to do some job hunting on my own using some leads from the class. If I’m not employed in a few weeks I’ll most likely take part in their follow up program of volunteer opportunities that have the potential to become full time employment.
We’re stuck in the middle of a truly miserable heat wave here. There have been several days where the thermostat has crossed 100 and with the heat index figured in we’ve been well over 100 every day for the last 10 days. It is 7:32 am central daylight time and it is already 86 by thermometer and 98 by heat index.
It dawned on me yesterday that I don’t remember which light bulbs need replacing in the house, mostly because we don’t turn on any lights if we don’t have too. Funny how lighting becomes something optional when you constantly feel like you’re melting. Even the air conditioner is only so much help as it has a hard time keeping up with the constant heat. I see some trips to the library, movie theater, and mall in our future as this is supposed to keep up for the next several days with not a single day forecast lower than the mid 90′s and most forecast for the upper 90′s.
Anyone got any cold air they want to send our way?
We’ve had a few days where it’s been hot and humid. Nothing like what you have though. Our problem seems to be rain, rain and more rain.
