Format And Reload
I’ve had fun the last few days trying to recover my daughter’s computer from a virus she picked up while school surfing. It’s at least partially my fault because I didn’t realize her anti-virus protection was in need of renewal. In the end a format and reload was performed and I’m once again aware of how many updates Microsoft does. It’s like a never ending barrage of download and install. Fortunately if you go out and manually get the big updates it really cuts down on the number of little ones you have to do. Yes, I did update her anti-virus subscription and beef up her firewalls.
The other big thing the last few days is fitting in my NaNo writing in between everything else. I’m running on about 4 to 5 hours of sleep a night and I’m beginning to wear. Fortunately I’m just over 20,000 words and I still like my story, even if I’m not entirely sure of where it’s going at this point. It’s all still a lot better than last year.
Hey, I’ve got 11 days of NaBloPoMo in as well, not bad for someone who hasn’t managed to post more than 3 days in a row in months. Of course, it would be helpful to participate in a few memes and get out and visit some other bloggers, but we’re taking baby steps here.
Now off to do some school work…

I need to do the same with my son’s computer. I keep telling him to stay way from the torrent sites, but he still hasn’t learned.
