Buppa

Thinking of my Buppa and garage door openers today. I know what could my grandfather and a household luxury have in common? Just this, all my life my Buppa got things done, fixed things, and made things better. He was the hardest working person I ever knew and he was like that his whole life. When my mother had to leave the house everyday in cold and rain he installed our first garage door opener, when my daughter got a giant sliver in her foot on the back deck he replaced the decking, when we wanted a garden or berry bushes he planted them. I don’t remember anything he couldn’t do. So today, as I ponder cleaning my garage so that the car fits in for winter, and wonder whether I’ll ever get the garage door opener functional, I’m thinking of my Buppa and wishing he were here.

You brought tears to your mother’s eyes with this one. You’ve captured him well. He did a lot and he always seemed so happy while he did. There’s a lot to be learned from that.
