multi-generation madhouse includes pets and meals

I’ve gotten my new Discovery For Life Blog set up, all of the homeschool posts moved over there, all of the homeschool posts off this blog, and changed some of the formating on this blog. I’ve still got a few links that need fixing after the change from a windows server to a linux server; but I can’t complain because the blog works so much better now.

I really enjoyed doing the Friday blog hops yesterday and wanted to add some new blog buttons to my sidebar. Unfortunately that was a long process that involved Flash. So I’ve redesigned my sidebar and link system to include easy to update sidebar widgets, a main link page that shows all of my link categories, and a page of buttons and links for each category.

To see it all in action scroll down the blog and look in the left hand sidebar for “Blogs I Read When I Have A Moment”, “Memes, Carnivals, Themes & Hops”, and “Awards, Prizes & Gifts”. There is just one button showing under each of those; but it changes each time the page loads, clicking on the button will take you to the blog or source of the button, clicking on the link below will take you to a page with all the buttons and links for that category.

Check out “Blog Links” at the top of the right sidebar, it will take you to a page that lists all the categories and shows four buttons from each category. Click on a section header or the “click to see more” link and go to the categories full page of links. Neat huh, it took quite a while to get right, including one really embarrassing error; but it will be a cinch to keep up now.
