All Kinds of Software
Standing in line at Office Depot today I was overwhelmed by the number and variety of software titles on display. I swear there is at least one application of everything you could imagine. Software for learning foreign languages, teaching preschool and elementary school skills, for prepping for tests, business intelligence software, games, photo editing, and so much more. I wonder do all these applications get used or do some get developed and then just fade away.
Then this afternoon I surfed to Amazon and there is an announcement for a new added service to Amazon Prime – free streaming movies and tv episodes. Wow, so much for an online bookstore they are now an all-purpose entertainment destination.
Of course, I really shouldn’t be too surprised, I do after all go to college online, use online resources for homeschooling, blog, play games, and watch movies online. I wonder will we do everything by computer some day?
Back to Office Depot, I’ve got to say I love their customer service. I bought ink cartridges today and one of them didn’t work properly. I walked in with the open package and they grabbed me a new one and I was on my way. If only I was treated that way in every store I shop in.
