Random Peeks Into Our Everyday Lives

American Idol – Top 9 Results

American Idol

A quick opening montage of the 9 remaining contestants, the judges and Ryan, a warning of shocking results, and teh kids do a medley. I Love Rock & Roll, The Letter, and Sweet Home Alabama all come off okay except for Pia’s weird “OW!” that sounded more like someone stepped on her foot than a rock vocalization.

We get our Ford commercial music video and then Russell Brand gives the kids advice on stage presence, presumably because he has a movie that needs some free plugs. Now its time to weed the herd…

Dim the lights Casey, Stefano and Lauren are first to center stage. Ryan gives us the run down on their performances very slowly, obviously he needs to kill time. One of them is in the bottom, it’s not Lauren, it’s not Casey either, Stefano is first to the silver seat of death.

Constantine Maroulis is back singing Unchained Melody and it certainly has come unchained. I now remember all the reasons I can’t stand this guy. He still has the creepy stare and the cleft to end all clefts in his chin. Another two minutes of my life I can’t ever get back. Time wasting chit chat and a cute baby pic.

Now we get to see a clip of Gwen Stefani styling the girls. Who could believe that Pia and Lauren actually like their outfits. Haley is the only one who came out of it with anything worth while.

Dim the lights as Paul, Scotty, and Pia come to center stage. Ryan does the review and there is some more time filling chatter. Scotty is safe, Paul is safe, Pia heads over to join Stefano. Now if we could just get Jacob over there we would have a trifecta of boring, egotistical, and no talent.

We watch a clip of the kids getting media training from the TMZ. Its kind of cute and the kids look really relaxed.

Jacob, Haley, and James hit the stage and Ryan does the run down. James is safe, Haley is safe, and Mr. Jacob Arrogant finishes up the bottom 3.

Iggy Pop performs Real Wild One, he’s shirtless, strange, dances with the kids, and gets bleeped a lot. Thank heavens for bleeps because my 8 year old is in the room. Miss Muffin thought he was creepy.

Ryan scares the crap out of Jacob but he is safe, Stefano is safe, and Pia is going home. The judges are shocked and horrified but they’ve used their save and she’s out. We get a Cookie fix while we watch Pia’s clip and then Ryan asks her to sing. Pia sings I’ll Stand By You and we finally get an emotional performance out of her. Gosh if she’d shown a tenth of that each week she’d still be in this.

That’s it till next week, wonder what their singing?

I don’t watch because music just isn’t my thing, but my daughter is hooked, so I try to keep up with the drama. I didn’t like Pia either. She can sing well, but she has no range; it’s all about the ballads with her. She’ll probably make it on her own anyway. I’ve never watched Casey, Lauren, or Stefano. And I can’t stand Paul! Everyone loves him… except me!
