American Idol – Top 7 Results

We, are watching live as the dvr decided to delete my series record for AI. We tuned in just in time to hear that more than 52 million votes were cast, that David Cook and Katie Perry will be performing tonight, then Stefano, Jacob, Haley, and Lauren sing Soul Sister by Train, they are okay.
The requisite Ford commercial music video and then we hear Casey, James, and Scotty sing Viva La Vida by Coldplay, they don’t blend very well, but I’ve heard worse. Jacob gets a chance to respond to the diva comments from last night and promises to get them all back.
Casey and Jacob stands up and reviews their performances. Casey says the kiss was spontaneous. Jacob talks about the ear monitor problems he had last night. Casey is safe, Jacob is in the bottom 3.
David Cook performs his new single The Last Goodbye and we get to catch a few glimpses of Neal and Andy. David talks about upcoming events and then provides a chance for his mom to get to meet Steven Tyler, mom gets a hug. I like the new song and I can’t wait to hear the whole album.
We get to see clips of the kids at a Dodgers game, bowling, and at the spa. Hopefully the won’t have to worry how to get rid of pimples now. Now Lauren, James, and Stefano head to center stage. Ryan reviews their performances and Stefano is the one heading for the silver stools. Now Scotty and Haley head to center stage and Ryan does the review. We know one of them is in the bottom 3 and that person is Haley. She goes over to the silver stools and then Ryan tells her he hates this part and and walks her back to center stage where he whispers in her ear that she is safe and sends her back to the couches. I’m thrilled with the bottom 2, its perfect.
Katy Perry performs E.T. and its a visual and auditory nightmare that I could have lived without. Too bad I’m not watching on dvr I could have fast forwarded through the whole thing, unfortunately I’d already wasted the few saved minutes I had.
The judges talk about each contestant and then Ryan reveals that the person going home this week is —- Stefano. No more funny phrasing, bad dance moves, or weird leering faces. The only thing I feel bad about is how sad James looks. Stefano sings Lately as his last song and its over done and strange as always. James picks him up and twirls him at the end. I know it must be tough for these kids to lose their friends after all these weeks.
Next week’s theme is the music of Carole King, should be interesting. The results show will feature Bruno Mars and Crystal Bowersox.
