Random Peeks Into Our Everyday Lives

Scrubs

When we lived in Georgia I needed scrubs more than once for jobs. I worked for a vet as a receptionist and learned quickly that even a “desk” job required quick dry, easy clean work wear. Later I volunteered for a spay/neuter clinic where scrubs were an absolute necessity. The easy part of both of these jobs was that any scrubs would do and we often scoured second hand shops for cheap scrubs to keep on hand in case of emergency. Not so with my last scrub experience…

About 6 months before we moved I decided to participate in a dental assistant training program. They offered an excellent balance of classroom and on the job training and were highly focused on preparing us for work in a real dental office. Towards that end on the first day of class we were issued a brand new set of dental office scrubs to be worn at each class. If you wanted to wear other scrubs you could, but the requirements were strict. They had to be in excellent condition, solid colored, matching top and bottom, and they had to fit properly. So much for all my fun animal prints.

I sure wish I’d known about http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/ they have quality, affordable scrub sets that would have worked really well for school and then after that work. Now if only Tennessee’s requirements for dental assistants wasn’t so different from Georgia’s.
