Recovery
This isn’t my first blog, I’ve had personal blogs under 3 different names across 4 platforms and 5 webhosts. Needless to say I’ve lost posts, comments, and the like more than once. When I started this blog I figured I would just go for the fresh start and forget all the stuff from the past; but all the forgotten things, they haunt me. So I tried reusing a few posts here, but I’ve only ported over half a dozen max in the 2 years this blog has been running. So…
Today began the big recovery process of my earlier blogs. It’s no small thing to get all the different formats talking to each other and many of the comments have been unlinked but I have all but 11 posts from 2 of the blogs open and at least partially functional. Better yet I just stumbled across what appears to be months worth of posts that I thought were gone forever. They are stored individually and will most likely take weeks to bring over but eventually it will happen.
I did remember to keep the commenting off though, can you just imagine the spammers glee at suddenly having 2 to 3 years worth of open posts to spam. Talk about a blogger’s worst nightmare!
