Our neighbor startled me the other day when she asked if I would be letting Miss Muffin go to public school this year. I think she is under the delusion that Miss Muffin is being forced into homeschooling. Miss Muffin would be horrified at the very thought of getting up at 7:00 am, putting on her uniform, and heading off to school for the day. Seriously, no amount of time spent with friends or racing around the school playground would be enough to get her into her blue and beige and out of the house before 8:00am.
I received my information packet from K12 and for the most part its a glossy print version of their website. Some of it smacks horribly of school at home and I cringe at the mention of an average 7 hours a day on lessons at this stage; however, the curriculum outline and theory behind it all is sound. I’ll probably take a few more days to decide, I’m not that worried about missing the “start” of school as we will start working with things we already have Monday.
