Word of the Week: Proliferate

Harvey hadn’t considered the introduction of humans to his environment harmful until their refuse proliferated like unedible rabbits. ~ 133

Yes, this lizard has it right-it’s unfortunate but right… Good use of this week’s word!

Haha–a lizard doesn’t notice trash until it affects him personally. I like the lizard’s comparison of refuse to inedible rabbits. People who litter are so inconsiderate. Walk across any high school/middle school campus after lunch and you’ll see the mess kids leave behind. I like the Japanese model in schools–the children learn from an early age that they are the ones who clean up the bathrooms and the grounds. They learn not to litter because they are the ones who pick it up! But of course, that would never be allowed here–child labor, “corporal punishment” it was called by one vice principal.

Oh, stuff you can’t eat is such a nuisance, in addition to being harmful to the environment, and humans are the very worst.
