No Pushing Please
As members of our local zoo with free entry and parking 364 days a year we rarely use the zoo on Tuesday afternoons. This is because its a free entry time and the zoo often has issuses with crowd control. It’s gotten so bad in the past that they have enacted strict occupancy limits and reserve the right to prohibit entry to any one under 17 without a legal guardian present.
Of course now that summer is “over” the need for barricades and police presence has passed. With school in session the crowd lined up for free entry yesterday was more the velvet rope crowd made up of homeschoolers, preschoolers, tired moms, and a few afternoon dates.
Still I have to confess that even if we had waited to go to the zoo until free time I would have used our membership card to avoid the lines. I’m not big on being herded through the security stanchions no matter what the reward. Well, maybe for a million dollars I could be persuaded
.

I’ve never experienced anything like that at our zoo….mind you I don’t go to the zoo for a variety of reasons. I hate lineups and I could think of way better things to do than to stand in a line up waiting to see a caged animal.
