Water Fun
Because
we home school we are always looking for a great way to fit in our physical education requirements. Miss Muffin’s interest in any activity tends to increase with the number of other children she will have a chance to play with while doing it. During the summer, many of the local parks have activities for kids including free splash parks that our girl loves.
Once the school year starts though access to the outdoor parks is limited and before long the search for water related indoor activities for kids begins. Our local park system has a couple indoor pools including one with a slide and interactive splash pad but it pales in comparison to the indoor water parks at the Great Wolf Resorts.
The large,
multifaceted water parks and resorts are sure to have something for everyone. Notable features include multiple water slides, a fort, pools, splash pad, whirlpools, and so much more, it’s hard to imagine not having a good time here. There are even cabanas available so that you can have some sit down family time without ever having to leave the entertainment area.
I’m thinking about a winter weekend getaway at one of the two resorts within a day’s drive from us. Although some features such as outdoor pools and cabanas can be seasonally limited in, areas with cold winters there would still be tons to do in the winter. I think it may just turn out to be the perfect escape next time the local temperatures drop below freezing and it will help us fill that pesky PE requirement.
