It’s Official, I’m 42!
Yesterday was my 42nd birthday, it wasn’t terribly traumatic, heck I’d been telling people I was 42 for a month. Miss Muffin decorated a Pepperidge Farm chocolate cake with a wolf and candles shaped like a four and a two. I got a pair of denim capris and two new tops, along with some hand soap and sweet pea bubble bath.
We went to see the final Harry Potter movie and out to a local Chinese buffet. Unfortunately my shoulder started acting up and the dinner out wasn’t quite as much fun as it could have been. We’ll definitely have to eat there again sometime when I’m more able to enjoy it.
When we got home, I needed to order Miss Muffin a one-piece bathing suit so that she can swim at the city pool on Thursday. I looked in all the stores we usually shop in for clothing for girls but it’s off-season and there were only a few bikinis several sizes too large.
One thing I’ve noticed lately is that the days of me just choosing clothing for her are quickly passing, she has always had her own sense of fashion and she is becoming pickier about what she wears. She’s only nine but the tween years are obviously closing in on us at a rapid pace. Before you know it she’ll be wanting to shop in the mall stores and while it may be years before she’s ready for women’s jeans; my guess is it won’t be long before we’re looking at junior’s sized for those long legs.
All in all it was a pretty good day, and that bathing suit I ordered – it’s already on its way!
