Random Peeks Into Our Everyday Lives

Not Quite That Time

I was hoping with several days in a row of moderate days and cool nights that the time had come to break out the bedspreads and comforters. Unfortunately the last couple of days have proven that summer is not quite ready to release its grip on the mid-south.

I typically remove any heavy bedspreads and comforters by late spring because all they do is heat up my feet and collect pet fur. I figure since I already have to wash the sheets regularly I might as well let the pet fur collect there as on the bedspreads and comforters.

I know that many people don’t like the look of a bed made up with just sheets but I find that for the hot summer months here in the mid-south this is a practical way to keep the beds. It keeps our feet from over heating and reduces the number of laundry loads which is both cooling and economical.

I could probably go in search of super light weight bedspreads that would serve as a top layer for the beds during ot weather but since I’m not unhappy with the status quo why bother. Besides I’ve always come done on the side of comforters for beds as they are much simpler to work with in regards to bed making. I’m not a big fan of the whole bed making thing so anything that eliminates work in regards to that task is a plus to me.

Oh well, I’m sure the heat will break for good sooner of later and then the comforters and bedspreads will come out of hiding to keep us all warm.
