I Never Thought
Some how when I think of South America I think hot, humid, and sunny. I’m a little more
informed when it comes to penguins and am aware that there are several types that prefer a warm/temperate climate. But until recently I never thought of South America and penguins as being connected in any way. It turns out they are though.
It all begins to make sense though when I take a good look at my daughter’s globe. The tip of South America really isn’t that far from Antarctica meaning that it is not as hot or humid as regions closer to the equator, a perfect area for penguins that like a moderate climate. And how do you get to see these penguins?
You can take advantage of one of the great Patagonia vacation packages available. The Patagonian region covers the southern most area of Chile and Argentina and offers a wide variety of natural delights for visitors on
Patagonia tours. You can visit Los Glaciares Park to see glaciers and icebergs up close or visit the coast to see the Magellanic penguins.
If that isn’t enough to entice you there are
plenty of off tour places to visit in Chile and Argentina to sweeten the vacation journey. Not to mention the chance to practice your Spanish and try a few new foods.
I keep thinking that this would be the perfect vacation for Miss Muffin since she is the Queen of the Penguin Fanatics. How great to get the chance to see penguins in their natural habitat. I’m sure it would be a grand adventure indeed.
