Random Peeks Into Our Everyday Lives

So Many Questions

Neon Pink Question Mark

As a student, parent, and home school educator I am often asked to fill out questionnaires, and increasingly they are of the online variety delivered to my email inbox. I have to admit that I at times enjoy these if they are well developed and easy to answer, especially if I can envision how they will improve the services I receive from the questioner. On the other hand, poorly formatted or confusing questionnaires often leave me wondering what the questioner is really hoping to learn.

One major difference I notice in the quality of the surveys I’ve answered is that the better formed surveys tend to be produced using survey software. Which left me to question why someone would choose not to use a professionally developed survey software system; I mean if they produce a substantially better product, why isn’t everyone using them?

Looking around at what was available, I was quickly able to find several online and downloadable survey software systems at a variety of price points. Many of the online systems even offer multiple package levels, as well as fully functional free trials, so that you can choose the level of service that is right for your needs. Add to this the availability of a variety of pre-developed templates with questions professionally designed to illicit the information you really need.

If I decided to develop an email based questionnaire for my website, blog, or home school group I would surely give one of these survey systems a try. Because if I’m going to take the time to do it, I want to do it right.
