A Different Kind Of Christmas

We’re really homebodies and we like our holidays small and quiet; but after seeing what are considered to be the top five Christmas holiday destinations I may have to rethink the idea of staying home.
After the last few winters of bitter damp here in the mid-south the thought of a nice quiet little beach hut in the Caribbean is very tempting. All that warm sand, crystal clear water, and heat would be a prefect way to enjoy any of the winter holiday breaks.
I’ll need to do some serious research in travel guides and on travel websites to see which Caribbean destination would make the best destination for our vacation. I don’t need or want to be hounded by resort staff or bombarded with “fun” activities. Just give me some sun, surf and sand and I’ll be happy.
The idea of having our own little home away from home with a kitchen and near by fresh produce and meats is a real plus. Because of Grandma’s diet I do most of our cooking from scratch and an extended diet of restaurant food is both unhealthy and unappealing.
I loved the suggestion that you could invite lots of your family to enjoy the vacation with you to reduce the per person cost of the adventure. For those with large extended families this would be a great idea. Instead of inviting everyone over to your house for Christmas, pick your dream destination and invite them to join you there. I bet it would make memories to last a lifetime.
