Pin Collections
It’s not 
that I hate jewelry, I’m just not a huge wearer. Also, while I’m not as allergic as my mother, I am sensitive to metals so that makes me cautious. But I do come from a long line of pin wearers and I’ve often admired their large collections of custom lapel pins.
Digging through one collection of custom lapel pins I found everything from cancer ribbon pins, to political pins, to gorgeous hundred year old cameos. It was almost like you could trace the owner’s history through their collection of pins.
There were even a few heart health ribbon pins left over from the last mailing campaign the owner did for the American Heart Association. I can still remember sitting around poking all those pins through Note Cards asking for donations, I stuck myself so many times.
Funny that I should eventually inherit pieces from a few of those custom lapel pins and start my own collection. Maybe one day I’ll even find a way to incorporate the pins into my jeans and t-shirts wardrobe.
