Breaking Ties
When I got divorced it wasn’t a surprise or even particularly distressing. My marriage had been short and for the most part an angry mess, so the end of it was actually a relief. Unfortunately for many that isn’t how it all works out.
My friend John called the other day looking for some advice about divorce and family law. He and his wife are splitting after four children and ten years of marriage. We talked for a while about the basic process, making things easier on the children, and the difficulties of adjusting to single life again.
While it was a good conversation I’m not sure that I was really all that helpful. My short, acrimonious marriage left me with no doubts about what I was doing; whereas John’s marriage was until recently relatively happy and while his wife is set on this path, he has many doubts. There’s also the fact that laws differ from state to state never mind from country to country.
I did advise him to find a good lawyer though. I never liked my lawyer, which often made things awkward during meetings, but he was excellent at his job and worked to find me the best resolution possible. Hopefully, John can find someone who can help him the way my lawyer did me and the divorce will go as smoothly as possible.
it sadden me hearing couple getting divorce, specially when there are kids involved.

Divorce for me is a bad idea for married couple, because you have to take into considerations the feelings of the children. But if the two parties has agree for their decisions then maybe they have to compromise things. Specially for the children’s welfare. Good luck for you both.

Somehow I would feel bad hearing divorce stories. Although both parties are happy with how it end up. Still I am not really convinced that its all the good way out.
Maybe I am just a family oriented person.
