Necessary Medicine

I never realized how important quality pharmacy services are until my daughter was first diagnosed with asthma. Later on as the healthiest member of a four generation household I would get plenty of chances to learn the ins and outs of a variety of local and mail-order pharmacy services.

I found that mail-order pharmacies worked best for long-term, regular use prescriptions while short-term and immediate fill prescriptions are best filled in local pharmacy. Overall I didn’t find too much difference in the mail-order pharmacies. The medicines always arrived when expected and were a huge savings over having the prescriptions filled at home.

Unlike the mail-order pharmacies, the local pharmacy services were as different as could be. The pharmacy closest to us was convenient but took forever to fill prescriptions and was always out of meds. The nearest Kroger pharmacy always had what we needed but depending on the time of year the wait for emergency prescriptions could be hours. The “local” pharmacies were too far away and required navigating too much traffic to be a good option.

Truthfully I wish there was a way to get those emergency and immediate fill prescriptions done by mail. I love not having to sit in a cluster of sick people waiting forever. Oh well, I have to admit that since we’ve moved I’ve had less need of regular pharmacy services and decent service as well.

I understand how hard it would be if you dont get the right medicine at the right time. Even i get asthma attacks more often during this cold season and i see how my dad makes sure to get the medicines for me every month. It was just like you said for us sometime back, but now my dad requested one of the pharamacist closeby to get the required medicine in store every month for us. And he wouldn’t mind paying extra, though the pharmacist is quite a decent person and would never charge us anything extra. Having the right pharmacy centre with the necessary medicines is must and required everywhere.
