Random Peeks Into Our Everyday Lives

Wallabies, Kangaroos, and Geologists

Wallaby with Joey in Pouch

Become a geologist? Job search Australia? I was sure Grandma had lost her last grip on reality. Seriously, I’m still working on my IT degree, the least she could do is wait for me to finish that.

“Geologist,” Grandma insisted, “They need a database manager and some mining engineers as well; but geologists have the most opportunities.” Who knew? Wallabies and kangaroos I expect, geologists, not so much. Time to learn a little more about Grandma’s job search Australia spree.

Turns out that mining is huge in Australia at the moment and there’s a shortage of geologists. Too bad they don’t need web designers and programmers, at least I know something about those. Perhaps there’s an exotic locale with a multitude of System Support & Documentation Jobs, I could handle one of those as well.

I wonder what quarantine policy is for family pets. I know I don’t want to pay the shipping charges on all our stuff! So many things to consider with a move of that distance. I’m sure Miss Muffin would think it a grand adventure, once she got over the loss of most of her toys.

Now I’m getting ahead of myself, it’s not like a have a job there yet. Heck, I don’t even qualify for most of them. I should probably just focus on surviving a local move and finishing my degree. But seriously, if you know a geologist you’ve got to tell them, “job search Australia!”
