Slowly but surely over the last 6 months all the great package deals I had that kept my phone, internet and tv affordable have run out and it occurred to me that it is ridiculous to be paying AT&T more than I pay MLGW for all the utilities. Weekends our busy in our house when I’m in school quizzes, papers, and projects take over our lives until everything is submitted. This weekend also featured the next step in Miss Muffin’s room makeover with the installation of the loft bed. She’s got a study area and a sitting area underneath and company whenever she goes up in the loft.

Day to of decluttering went well and the Christmas ornaments have been reduced to just what will fit on our current tree. We’re getting quite the collection of empty boxes and for the first time I don’t mind them.

I’ve been consdering turning some of my unused and rarely used gardening tools into garden gifts for friends. It makes more sense than holding on to them and moving them from house to house. [Read more →]

We’ve kind of tabled moving locally for the moment. I’ve looked into a couple different colleges and if I decide to go to one outside of Memphis we’ll move nearer to the college. It makes me wonder if we could fit 3 people, 3 cats, a border collie, and 2 goldfish in an rv long-term. I wonder what rv insurance costs? No matter what we decide we really want to pare down on the clutter we have so we’ve committed to spending 30 minutes a day clearing out the things we don’t need anymore. We’ve already tossed or packed to donate several boxes. It’s pretty cool to see 7 boxes of stuff turn into 1. Who knows, maybe by the time we’re ready to move we’ll be able to move without too much hassle, I sure hope so.

I’ve been a blog slacker the last few weeks. With school starting back up for both Miss Muffin and I it’s been a bit crazy. Both of my classes this quarter require more from me than some of my previous classes and we are working to finish off Miss Muffin’s first semester assessments. We’re still trying to find the right place to move and work out all the logistics of that as well. I’ve been thinking we need to find a fun way to let off some steam as a family, maybe a wii or an xbox. Wonder what the average price of xbox games is right now?

Miss Muffin’s cat, Clarkie a.k.a. Fat Orange, has been really punk, throwing up, and not eating. This morning I took him to the vet hoping whatever was wrong with him was fixable on our limited budget. I’m pleased to say that it’s only a UTI and he is resting and recuperating. [Read more →]
