Searching…
So for months now I’ve had issues with my blog and with my web host, Go Daddy, in general to the point of me actually paying to be moved to another server. Last night demonstrated that there are still many issuses to be resolved. At no time should it take 3 1/2 hours to approve one comment and post a single paragraph post.
The problem is that shopping for a new web host is sort of like shopping for the best acne treatment, everybody says they have the answer; but the only way to find out for sure is to spend a lot of money and risk the disappointment.
At least part of the problem is that I’ve become spoiled with the ability to run my asp and php pages and applications on my windows based hosting. I do have some php pages that will run almost the same as the asp ones, notice I said almost; and there are blogging platforms that are .net based and will run on the windows server. Problem is I like what I have, just the way I have it.
In looking at hosts I’ve only found one so far that guarantees this if I transfer to them, and I have to wonder, will they really be better? I don’t know, but I can tell you that I’m almost ready to try and risk the disappointment.

I started off with Go Daddy. The main reason I went with them on the first place was because I’d heard that unlike some hosts, if you decide to move your domain registration elsewhere it would be possible. They should have warned it it wouldn’t be easy. it took me weeks to figure out how to do it. I moved my site to another host, but it wasn’t until recently that I was able to pry my domain registration looses.
I’ve very very glad to be free of them now.
