Monochrome Weekend #25

We finally had a day warm enough and dry enough to head down to the river for photos. It felt really good to be out of the house and enjoying the sun.

Monochrome Weekend #23

We really seem to have drifted to creatures of the night. Every day we wake up a little bit later and then the whole day just slides from there. My mother used to nap during the early to mid-afternoon and when she got up we would have supper. Now she naps in the early evening and sometimes supper doesn’t happen until after 10pm. I don’t even want to discuss the half-pints bedtime, which of course gets shoved all around by our crazy schedule. But we do seem to get what needs to be done, done just at a slightly different hour of the day. A friend suggested that we try sleeping pills to get ourselves realigned with the rest of the world, but my experience with this says the fix is temporary at best. Oh well, it’s daytime somewhere while we’re awake.

Monochrome Weekend #21

We’ve had lots of rain, mist, and fog lately. Not that I’m complaining mind you, as long as it stays in the upper 50’s or higher I’m a happy camper, my house was built for this kind of weather. We haven’t been out and about as much as you would think with this warm spell though, I think we are stuck in hibernate mode. At least a trip to the library provided the opportunity for photos and it sure beat comparing auto insurance quotes. Maybe this coming week we will manage to get out and about a bit more.

Monochrome Weekend #20

It has been another really cold week here, and I’m beyond pleased that we haven’t had anymore pipes burst, southern homes just aren’t built to withstand the cold.
The cold has really curtailed our activities though, it was too cold to hang out at the zoo, or walk in the park, or any of the other fun things I usually do with the half pint, she’s way to southern for anything under 40 degrees, never mind the temps we’ve been having. So mostly we sit around bundle up trying not to let our feet hit the cold tile floors, not even slippers can keep your feet warm here.
So it is with great joy and relief that I can report that today’s high was 69, perfect for a trip around town and parking way out in the parking lots. If it by chance the rains they’ve predicted for this weekend don’t show we might even go for a long walk at the nature center, so I can stop looking at nutrisystem reviews, and just get on with my life.
