Randomness Reigns
I’ve been learning lots about college sports at my new job and it’s been enlightening to say the least. Who would have guessed that there were so many rules and regulations governing college sports and athletic scholarships.
This week we done a bunch to get the social networking aspects of it all up and running. Kind of funny to picture me being responsible for regular tweeting. Fortunately I’ve come up with some ideas for daily and weekly tweets and some apps to schedule them with.
All this new stuff is a little overwhelming and exhausting, not like the way a marathon or operating industrial equipment would be, but in that brain strain kind of way. It’s hard to believe I’m going to add school and homeschool to all of this next week.
Well, I’m off to bed now, I’m so not used to going to bed at 10:30/11pm yet.

Camera Critters #2 – More From the New Exhibit
Last week I showed you the gray wolf pups, this week I bring you our relocated trumpeter swans. They used to live in a concrete jungle; but they’ve been upgraded now. They really seem to enjoy swimming and fishing in their new home; but what they really like is getting up close to the fence so everyone can admire them…

P.S. – godaddy is better today; but still pretty sucky and slow. I apologize in advance for any trouble you have viewing or commenting.

Thursday 13 From The Pink Palace
We went to the Pink Palace Museum yesterday for field trip day. There is an IMAX Theater, a Planetarium, a wide assortment of permanent and temporary exhibits and then there are displays in the main house.
The main house was being built for Clarence Saunders, inventor of the self-service grocery, before he went bankrupt attempting to maintain control of his company stock. One of the exhibits is a to size replica of Clarence’s first Piggly Wiggly.
What struck me the most as we wandered through was not how small it was, or the lack of choice, or even the way you were herded through like cattle; instead what I was struck by were how many things on those few shelves were things I have in my home today.
- Kellogg’s Corn Flakes
- Cream of Wheat
- Quaker Oats
- Gold Medal Flour
- White Lily Flour
- Domino Sugar
- Quaker Corn Meal
- Log Cabin Syrup
- Jello Brand Jello
- Del Monte Green Beans
- McCormick’s Cloves
- Morton’s Salt
- Lava Soap

Funny isn’t it how so much has changed in our world and yet we still use these things. Makes me feel a little closer to the past, if only for the moment.

Looking At The Sky On Friday #1
Click On The Logo To Join!
So I quit blogging and then I moved, and discovered that I missed the blogs, and the memes, and the photos. Something else I’ve learned during the move is that the sky on the Southern East Coast and the sky in the Central South look really different. It’s almost like you can touch the sky here at times, the clouds seem to be right over you pressing down. It’s a goal to have my camera with me at one of those moments. But for today I have a pretty sky captured while we waited to see Disney’s A Christmas Carol Train Tour this week.

I just have to say that if Disney’s A Christmas Carol Train Tour comes to a town near you, go. There was tons to see and learn, and a cool touch morphing system at the end. My only warning is get there early and be prepared to wait, they said 2 hours when we got in line and it was just over 1, but we weren’t really prepared to stand in the heat. If you would like to see some pictures from our adventure you can check out my homeschooling blog, Discovery For Life, for more.

Starting Over
Well, all the old blogs have been left in the past along with so much more. I can’t even begin to explain how much my life has changed since the last time I blogged on the old blog in April.
We are homeschooling this year after a long year of tears and misery, not because she couldn’t keep up; but because there was too much turmoil and not enough challenge. I plan to keep most of my blogging about our homeschooling adventures on Discovery for Life.
I’m not totally sure what I’m going to do on this one, or how long I will leave it on blogger; but who knows, it could be fun.
