Seasoned No-Salt
In a desperate search for a seasoned salt replacement for our annual Chex Party Mix binge I tried dozens of store bought and homemade seasonings blend before coming up with this mix. The batch is enough to make all our holiday party mix and leave some for the next 12 months.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup dried parsley
- 1/2 cup paprika
- 1 1/2 tbls onion powder
- 1 1/2 tbls garlic powder
- 1 1/2 tbls dried thyme
- 1 1/2 tbls celery seed
- 1 tbls dried oregano
- 1 tbls dry mustard
- 1 tbls marjoram
- 1 tbls curry
- 1 1/2 tsp dill weed
Directions:
- Mix all ingredients together then grind* until it reaches a powdered state.
- Pour into a quart ziplock, covered jar, or several spice bottles.**
Notes:
*If you have a blender or food processor that will grind the whole batch, great. If not a small spice grinder or coffee grinder (don’t use the one you grind your morning coffee in) will work fine just grind it in several small batches.
**I like to fill one spice bottle to keep in the cupboard and store the rest in a ziplock in the freezer.
